The Nervous System
The cranial nervous system
- The cranial nerves are the nerves that connect the brain, the eyes, the ears, the mouth and other parts of the head.
The central nervous system
- The central nervous system is the intergration and command center of the body. it consists of the brain, spinal cord and retina.
Peripheral nervous system
- This system consists of sensory neurons, ganglia (clusters of neurons), and nerves that connect the cenrtal nervous system to the arm, hands, legs and feet.
Autonomic nervous system
- These are the nerves that connect the central nervous system to the heart, lungs, stomach, intestines, sex organs and bladder.
